Crunch Time

Instead of packing, I’m sitting on the couch watching Honey Boo Boo and avoiding changing the channel with the fear that Michael Myers will pop up on my TV screen.

That man is terrifying.

Worst music ever.

Worst movies ever.

Seriously.

Thankfully, Halloween has almost come and gone and that means starting tomorrow morning as soon as I get to work, Michael Buble’s Christmas album gets played on repeat continuously.

In the meantime, would you like to see how messy our apartment is?

The movers are coming on Friday (still don’t know what time yet…awesome, right?) so Kevin and I have been focusing on organizing all of our things, patching nail holes in our walls, and setting aside things we want in temporary housing.

I had too much fun with this spackling.

Since we’ll be living in a furnished apartment until we find a house, you’d think we don’t need too many things, but the pile we have right now is out of control. I have no idea how we’re getting all of this into our two small cars.

We’re bringing some of our food (things like salt, pepper, flour, taco seasoning, etc.) that won’t go bad, but we don’t want sitting in storage for months. We also have things like my printer (since I’ll be working from home), all of our winter coats, hats, gloves, etc. and our toiletries coming with us. I also have important paperwork, like our rental agreement with our apartment and passport for our cruise staying out of storage and with us in temp. housing. And of course, clothes and all of Gracie’s things!!

AH! I also snuck a bag full of Friends and Sex and the City DVDs and wedding magazines. You should have seen Kevin’s face when he saw that bag. Hahahaha girlfriend needs her nightly Friends fix!!

Let’s just say that it will be interesting trying to fit all of these things in our cars tomorrow.

I can’t believe we’re moving SO SOON!

Tomorrow is my last day working in my office. It will be so weird to leave the office, but stay with the work! Today they invited Kevin to the office and they had pizza and beer to send us off on our move. Such a sweet gesture! 😉

Last night Kevin and I went out with our friends Ashley and Gretchen, who I’m going to miss so much! We were talking about Templeton Rye, a famous-to-Iowa whiskey that is sold in limited quantities. Once Kevin and I got home, we were on a mad hunt to find this Templeton Rye goodness people speak of but can’t find. On a whim, I decided to call our local Hy-Vee to see if they happened to know when they get shipments in and the woman said they actually had two bottles in the store!

Kev and I drove right up and (gasp) paid $40 for a bottle. We haven’t tried it yet, but we were definitely excited to get our hands on a bottle before we left!

I was honestly very sad about that being our last trip to Hy-Vee. Kevin and I both absolutely love going – it’s the friendliest place I’ve ever been other than Disney World  and we’re going to miss it so much! Kroger, you have a lot of impressing to do. 🙂

Yes I humiliatingly asked Kev to take a picture of me in front of HyVee.

Tomorrow Kevin is going to be finishing up getting some work done around the apartment while I’m at work. Then, we’re going out to dinner with our friends Jess and Chris one last time before finishing getting all of our “temp. housing boxes” in our cars and out of the way for the movers on Friday!

It’s crunch time.
