Somehow, you were a great and terrible month all at once. You brought our friend Peter to town so we could spend a week together and celebrate our best friend’s wedding day, which was quite a great time. But then you were the month that I was sick for three weeks with a sinus infection and bronchitis. And then, to make things even worse, this was the month that my husband worked in Kansas City for three weeks in a row. It was rough. I was sick. I missed him. He was in another city living and working. Gosh, I don’t know how military spouses do it. Mad props to them. The Monday after Danny and Sara’s wedding was quite depressing for me. I was so sick, Peter left to go back home, Danny and Sara were on their honeymoon and Kevin left for Kansas City. But I did have excuses to go home to St. Louis and take a mini vacation to Kansas City. So there was good and bad, but I’m ready for you to be over, August.
You kick off the best time of the year for me. So cheers to pumpkins, the color orange, fall-scented candles, hoodies, NFL, chili and blankets. I’m so happy you’re here.
