Don’t do what I did last night. Just don’t.
I’m currently traveling for work and because I have a tendency to get motion sickness easily, I usually take Dramamine when flying or riding in long car rides (I also take it for cruises, bus trips, trains, roller coasters, etc.). I took Dramamine around 3 p.m. yesterday and because I take it often, it usually doesn’t make me zonk out as easily as some people. When I landed in Rochester and checked into my hotel, I had a massive headache and since it was close to bedtime, I took two Tylenol PM and crawled into bed with plans to chat with two friends, write a blog post and catch up on some work.
I realized, about an hour after taking two Tylenol PM, that I had taken the equivalent of too much Benadryl and I couldn’t even keep my eyes open. I talked to both of my friends and literally had to stop them mid-sentence to say, “I’m sorry, I am actually falling asleep on the phone, I will call you tomorrow.” I’ve never been so tired in my life!
Waking up this morning was actually painful. It physically hurt my head and body to get out of bed at 7 a.m., even though I had 8 hours of sleep. I’m such a ditz!
But let me back track a bit because I didn’t do a whole lot of blogging this week, so I’ll catch ya up.
As you know, Kevin and I were in Cincinnati last weekend celebrating two graduations. The car ride is normally SO long and boring, but we somehow managed to do the drive back to Des Moines in 8.5 hours (speedy, Kevin).
One of our weird traditions is stopping in each new state we travel through to buy lottery tickets.
No winners this time…bummer.
Gracie sleeps like a baby in car rides!
The most exciting part of our drive: a weird cloud that looked like a tornado (but wasn’t).
Steak N Shake chili! We don’t have those in Des Moines so I talked Kevin into stopping in Illinois to get some chili. Yummmmmm!
Packing for New York is ridiculous. I’m going for a whole week and I have no idea what to wear/bring, so I basically brought it all.
It FITS! (And yes I travel with movies…what if I get stuck in the airport for 8 hours!)
When I got to the airport yesterday, I got a delicious Mexican salad. Too good.
I had a connection in Chicago so I walked to a whole new terminal to get Garrett’s popcorn and Argo Tea. Two things Chicago does right!
After my client event today, I’m heading to Albany, NY for client events this weekend and then New York City!
