Here’s a typical “I have to back up to last month to recap this really cool thing that happened” post. Shall we?
So. Forecastle Festival! I wrote about it last year. Remember? It was my second month at my new job and my coworker Holly’s husband started the Festival a long time ago and it’s now become “the thing” to do in Louisville in the summer. Really, you cannot miss it. It’s too much of a good time.
So anyways, this year, Holly had me and some other people from my office help out again with media. I worked on Saturday, so I went for fun on Friday with Kevin.
And fun, it was! We saw ZZ Ward, Cage the Elephant and Houndmouth (and Sam Smith, pre-hurricane), and they were all so great. So so great.
Cage’s set was ah-mazing. See?
I got to the Festival early on Saturday to help with any media stuff from the storms the night before and such, while the Kevin and Danny got set up in their beer booth. They volunteered to man a beer booth for a few hours on Saturday to benefit the Forecastle Foundation. (When you’re wife and best friend is on the board, you get automatically volunteered.)
Meanwhile, I wrangled some cameras with Holly. 😉
Saturday night was pretty legit.
You know, with this view of My Morning Jacket.
Doesn’t get much better than that!
After the photographers left the photo pit, I made my way back to where Kevin, Danny and some of my coworkers were to watch the rest of the MMJ set with them.
Oh, did I mention how hot the weekend was? It had to have been some sort of record. My weatherman husband disagrees, but I’m convinced it was the Hottest Weekend in Louisville. Ever. Basically, I don’t have any more sweat left to sweat out of my body, so I’m pretty much ready for December.
Friday and Saturday were hot, but Sunday was HOTTTTTT. Kev and I worked a beer booth for the Foundation on Sunday night and I was ready to jump in the beer cooler to cool off. (I didn’t. They say that’s frowned upon.)
The heat didn’t stop us, though. We had an amazing weekend with friends and coworkers who have now become great friends. <3
