Home for the Holidays – Part 1

I have been completely out of touch as I took a few days of vacation and went home to St. Louis for the Christmas season. It was SO amazing being home for that long, but I’m back to the real world now.

After Christmas, I always suffer from post-holiday depression. I get sad that all the hype and excitement is over just like that, so I’m going to go back and reminisce.

Take it from the top!

Gracie slept the whole way to St. Louis. It was lovely.

My parents forced Nala to sit in a picture with Gracie. She tolerated it, I suppose. (Anyone else notice that my parents match? They didn't plan that!)

Brendan found the hidden pickle in the tree.

Nala started to warm up to Gracie. Just a little.

Kev and I went to the Rams vs. Bengals game. We lost. Surprised?

We also went to a Blues game! We won. Not surprised.

My dad made us margaritas from scratch one night (recipe coming soon)!

We baked cookies.

I almost killed my brother. Literally - we found out he's highly allergic to pecans. I'll post more details later!

Nala and I had quality bonding time.

That consisted of the first half of my week home. I’ll post more photos in part 2! I’ll also post Β ALL the cookie recipes (90 percent of which contain pecans) and the story about my brother later.

All in all, it was a fantastic week home and I’m sad it’s over, but I’m gearing up for 2012 and my birthday in a few weeks!

Oh yeah! Are you sad you didn’t get snow on Christmas? Personally, I’m not. I had enough snow in Valpo for a lifetime…I’ll take a 50 degree Christmas any year, but if you are one of those peeps who loves snow (my college roommate, Jacki, is laughing right now because she knows I’m talking about her), Google “Let it Snow.” πŸ™‚
