Jenny & Jose…and Valpo!

Every time a friend gets engaged, I count down until the days when we get to see them get married and celebrate with them at their reception.

And I’m pretty lucky because my sorority sisters are kindof the best. No, seriously. The best. When wedding rolls around, I am a disaster of emotions. Weeks before the wedding, I get so excited. And then, the day after the wedding the depression sets in, hard. One day I’m crying happy tears because I can’t believe we’re all reunited, and the next minute I’m crying sad tears because I don’t know when I’ll see them again.

And that’s just how last weekend was. Jenny and Jose have been together for as long as I’ve known Jenny and I was so excited to see the two of them get hitched.

Not only was it amazing to see Jenny, but so many of mine and Kevin’s friends were there and we got to catch up.

See? The best.

Jenny is one of the best gals someone could have in their life, and I’m so happy for her and Jose!

Also, can we talk about the photobooth that they had at their reception? Too. much. fun.

Sunday rolled around and the aforementioned depression set in, but Kevin and I tried to perk up because we were able to swing by Valpo, our alma mater since the wedding was nearby!

We haven’t been back since Homecoming 2011. I can’t decide if it’s more weird that I’ve been blogging for more than four years, or that I’ve been graduated from college for four years.

Regardless, it was SO good to be back. I can only explain it one way…it felt like being back home.

Kev and I met on this campus eight years ago TODAY, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experiences we had.

Oh and those sorority sisters? Don’t mind us. Just three graduated Kappas looking longingly into our sorority building wishing we were able to go back.

But instead, we just stood outside like a bunch of lame alumni.

We explored campus for a bit and decided we were DEFINITELY going back for Homecoming this year because there’s no way we’re waiting another four years to go back. Before heading home, though, we wandered into town to see some of our favorite places outside of campus. Like the banquet hall where some of my sorority dancers were held and our favorite bar.

So many good memories!

Although I get sad when I look back at this weekend because it’s over, I am so thankful that we have such great friends, even if we don’t get to see them all the time.
