Sorry I’ve been absent the past few days! We’ve been busy with wedding stuff, house stuff and watching way too many episodes of The West Wing (obsessed.), but I’m back with another cruise recap!
After our incredibly fun formal night, we accidentally slept in way too late. Our staterooms were interior rooms and it is pitch black when all of the lights are off. Great for sleeping, not so great when you don’t set an alarm.
We had reservations for a booze cruise in Nassau (all you can drink on a catamaran and trip to a beach) at noon, and we didn’t wake up until 11:30! I reread our paperwork and discovered we didn’t have to be there until 12:30, so we scrambled.
Except we had one big problem – someone was a little too hungover to spend an entire day on a rocky boat with alcohol beverages. Long story short – we skipped the booze cruise (can you guess how happy were Sara and I at this point? Not very.) and took a taxi to a public beach. Here are some snapshots of our day.
Taxi. There aren’t any traffic signals or law in Nassau. So I recommend you 1. not ride in the taxis when you have to pee and 2. close your eyes or you’ll fear for your life. The beach was very crowded where we entered, so we walked down a bit and found a secluded spot.
Beware of the ‘deals.’
Sometime while on the beach, after Sara and I got the crankiness out of our system, we brought up Disney World. You see, we had a whole day in Orlando after our cruise before we flew home, and since we didn’t do any excursions on our cruise, we thought a trip to Disney sounded like the perfect plan. More on that later. The water was a little chilly, but I’m glad we got in!
Except we were incredibly disappointed. Those Bahama Mamas were so gross and I think we were all a little sick of highly fruity drinks at this point.
So we decided to leave our tip and head back to our ship for dinner…without even drinking our drinks (they were free so we didn’t feel bad!)
RICO, our waiter! He sang, danced and was quite the all-around entertainer. We loved Rico.
I think this meal was my favorite (even better than the lobster!) I say that not just because of the main dish that I ordered (chicken mushroom cream pasta)
This night was the night of the deck party, so we went to the Lido Deck to check it out.
Day 3 was a blast. Stay tuned for Disney World…
