Oh, hello there! Long time no talk, forreal this time. I think this might be the longest I’ve gone without posting in years. I have all sorts of excuses, too. First, we were in Vegas. Then, I came back and jumped right into the Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow (one of my clients). My parents were in town for that (more on that later), and then I got the flu. The actual flu (and yes, I got a flu shot). It was terrible. Horrible. No good. I’d never wish the flu on anyone. Luckily, I had a couple of the best caretakers out there around – Kevin, my nurse and Gracie, my cuddle bug. I missed two full days of work and surrendered to my bed for four days, but finally felt better by the fifth day and now I’m back 100 percent. I’ve never felt so happy to be healthy!
Anyways. Let’s back track to the boat show. This is my second year working on that account and I l.o.v.e. it. It’s so fun! I grew up boating and being all sorts of outdoorsy, so I really enjoy the show even as a fan. My parents were super pumped to come in town and check out all the boats and RVs. I even picked out the boat I’d buy (it’s so pretty).
For work, my team and I handle all of the media relations and social media for the show. This includes multiple 3 a.m. wake ups and some really long days, but it’s worth it when you love your job.
The show started on Wednesday but my parents arrived Thursday night. We went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday, since I hadn’t really celebrated yet at that point (the day of my birthday, we had a big snow storm and Kev worked).
The next couple of days, I worked at the show, and my family and my best friend’s family explored the boats and RVs.
How many people can fit into this camper? Seven, apparently!
Once the show was a wrap, we had our families over to our house to grill out and play the horse game.
And then I got the flu.
See? I told you I had a good excuse for being MIA for almost a month. 😉
