I didn’t start blogging until about a year ago, so I’m a little late to all the trends. During my fun-filled Friday night, I discovered a few of my favorite bloggers posted the ABC’s of themselves and I wanted to join in the fun, even if it is about a year after that trend floated around the blog world. No big deal.
So, here we go!
A. Age: 23
B. Bed Size: Queen bed that I have had for a few years now. Honestly, THE most comfortable bed on the planet. Ask anyone, especially my dad. He liked taking naps on it while I was away at college.
C. Chore You Dislike: Dishes. It was my chore growing up and now I despise it.
D. Dogs: Gracie – age 7 months.
F. Favorite Color: Navy. All things navy. Since I was little.
G. Gold or Silver: Silver, though I think gold is very classy.
H. Height: 5’7. I lied when I was in high school and said 5’8 or 5’9 to look taller on the volleyball roster.
I. Instruments You Played: Piano as a child and flute from 3rd-12th grade (all taught by the same teacher, too!)
J. Job Title: Account Executive (in PR, it works like this:
Intern, Assistant Account Executive/PR Specialist, Account Executive, Senior Account Executive, Account Supervisor/Manager and so on. Titles depend on the agency.)
K. Kids: No. We may not have done the whole get-married-before-living-together thing the right away, but cute babies are not in our near future. Someday!
L. Live: Des Moines, Iowa (born in Aurora, CO and lived there two months, lived in St. Louis, MO most of life except for 3.5 years when I went to college in Indiana.)
M. Mom’s Name: Kim 🙂 Isn’t she perrrrrty!? (and isn’t it funny that we all look exactly alike, but my brother and dad have similar features while my mom and I do?)
N. Nicknames: My real name, Gabriele, is pronounced gay-brie-elle, not gah-brie-elle (weird, I know – not only do I only have one “L,” but it’s also pronounced differently). Since it’s hard to say, most people call me Gabby (though, my little brother called me Gabie growing up because he couldn’t pronounce anything else).
O. Overnight Hospital Stays: Unfortunately, yes. I actually almost died when I was born. I was born with meconium aspiration and was rushed to a children’s hospital. The doctors didn’t think I would make it, so they gave me my last rights in the helicopter on the way to the ER. Scary for my parents!! I made it through that night, but was baptized the next day. So I stayed in the hospital for a couple weeks until I was all better. 🙂 I also went to the hospital a few days after getting my wisdom teeth out (NOT a good experience for me), but I survived that as well! Clearly.
P. Pet Peeves: Slow walkers (KEVIN!), the wrong use of ‘their,’ ‘they’re,’ and ‘there,’ and rude/blatantly mean people. I actually have a lot of pet peeves, but I’ll just post a few of my favorites.
Q. Quote From a Movie: This is actually something I’m oddly proud of: I can recite the entire length of the following three movies: “Liar, Liar” “Happy Gilmore” and “The Parent Trap.” I grew up watching those movies on REPEAT and I swear they are embedded in my brain. No favorite quote, I like them all.
R. Righty or Lefty: Righty but Kevin is a lefty. I wonder what our kids will be!
S. Siblings: Little bro! Brendan (named after Brendan Shanahan) – age 17 (18 in July).
T. Time You Wake Up: 6:15 a.m. but I hit my snooze button way too many times. That makes Kevin very happy (sarcasm).
U. Underwear: Clean.
V. Vegetables You Don’t Like: Brussel sprouts, raw onion and kale
W. What Makes You Run Late: Good Morning America/Today Show, enjoying my coffee slowly and playing with Grace.
X. X-Rays You’ve Had: A few on my ribs when I got in a bad car accident when I was 16, some on my neck (I think a CAT scan actually) when I had sinus surgery and I think a few others.
Y. Yummy Food You Make: I. Love. Food.
Z. Zoo Animal Favorites: I’m a bad person, but I really dislike the zoo. Let me explain: growing up, my family wanted to go to the zoo in the middle of July at 1 p.m. aka hotter than HELL temperatures in steamy St. Louis. Ergo, I was a little kid, sweating to death and my family wanted me to look at snakes. I. hate. snakes. Can’t even look at a picture of one. So if I had to pick? I guess I’d say the tigers or lions. They seem pretty cool and un-snake-like.
So if any of you “newer” bloggers out there want to do this, post a link in the comments because I want to read! 🙂
