I know it’s nearly February…I have been so behind on writing these wedding recap posts! I’m sorry!
SO…let’s get to it.
After our rehearsal dinner, everyone left and went back to the hotel to sleep. I, however, stayed at my parents house with just my parents and little brother. Just like the good ole days! I kept true to my nightly routine and watched a few episodes of Friends before drifting off to a restless night of sleep. As every bride says, I was too excited to sleep!
The morning of the wedding was perhaps the most exciting morning of my life. We had my family’s hair stylist, Lisa, come to my parent’s house so we didn’t have to drive all over town for hair/makeup. Our make-up lady, Holly, showed up shortly after Lisa. Pretty soon, me, my mom, my mother-in-law and five bridesmaids were getting prepped and pampered by around 9 a.m.! In the meantime, my dad and brother headed to the hotel to meet up with the guys.
The gals painted their nails and toes the morning of the wedding, in between hair and make-up. It was like a full-on spa! I am amazed that Lisa did mine, two mothers and five bridesmaids hair in less than four hours. She rocks!
My bridesmaids showed up with a fun little surprise for me: a white zip-up that said “bride” on the back! This came in handy on the honeymoon. 😉 They also gave me a beautiful scrapbook full of pictures and fun memories that I had shared with each of them. They all wrote me a little message, but I didn’t read it the morning of because I was too scared to cry, so I saved it for later that night when Kevin and I were alone in our hotel room.
Lisa and Holly packed up and our photographer arrived a little after noon. Pretty soon, it hit me that it was all happening and it was MY WEDDING DAY.
Before I knew it, it was time for last-minute touch-ups and to head to the church! AH!
But not before one last mimosa!
Oh, and saying goodbye to my Gracie Girl. How could I forget?! (These next few pictures are some of my very favorites.)
While we were all getting ready at my parent’s house, the dudes were getting ready in the hotel room. And by getting ready, I mean lounging in their sweatpants, drinking a couple cold ones and putting on their tuxes 10 minutes before it was time to leave for the church. Must be nice!
Our photographer’s assistant, Pam, went to the hotel to take some shots of the guys getting ready. I was so excited to see these pictures since I wasn’t there, and I think they turned out so great!
More coming soon, stay tuned!
