I have a new recipe for you! It’s something that Kevin and I have been making pretty often in our house ever since we first tried it while camping with Danny and Sara a few years ago. Originally from Danny’s mom, we’ve revised it a bit to make it the easiest crock pot or one-pot dish around.
Sausage and Noodles
I normally made this dish in a crock pot, but I recently discovered that when I am home during the day, I’m able to heat it up in a pot over our stove on the warm setting, making this dish a pretty easy one-pot wonder.
Note to everyone: please remember to buy traditional or original breakfast sausage links, NOT maple sausage. Your dish will turn out very…umm…interesting if you end up with the maple pack. Take our word for it.
First, ya cut up your sausage into smaller pieces.
The sausage just needs to be browned, not cooked through. It’ll cook all the way through while it’s in the crock pot/pot.
Another reason why this dish is awesome: four ingredients! Three of them being things that we almost always have on hand.
After browning the sausage, you just gotta add the cream of mushroom and cream of chicken right to the crock pot/pot. And that’s it!
We love serving this over egg noodles, but I suppose you could use any noodle you like.

- Cook on low for 4-10 hours
- Boil noodles
- Serve sausage mixture over noodles
This recipe is one of those homey, cuddle under the blankets, light a fire, binge watch Netflix and eat-it-on-the-couch recipes. You know the nights I’m talking about…it looks a little something like this:
As much as I hate you, winter, I kinda sorta like you on nights like these.
