Second Anniversary Celebration

So. Kevin and I celebrated our two year anniversary…a month ago. Totally meant to write about it but life happened and all of a sudden it’s November 18. Wah! Better late than never, right?

We debated going on a mini vacation again (we did Asheville last year and it was amazing: part I and II), but we are OMGSOCLOSE to paying off our student loans, we wanted to save money and do something more low key. Plus, our anniversary was on a Monday so we didn’t go too cray.

Kev surprised me with flowers at work because #besthusbandever, and it was such a treat. We don’t ever do flowers or surprise gifts, so it was especially exciting to me.

We started the evening at Holy Grale, our favorite local bar. We had a couple IPAs and split their heavenly beer cheese and pretzel. I could have gone home happy from there, but we had reservations at Jack Fry’s.

According to my coworkers, Jack Fry’s is a MUST, so we happy to use our anniversary as an excuse for a fancy night out.

I got a salad and scallop dish, and Kevin got the salmon with some sort of mouthwateringly good sauce. I practically licked the sauce of his plate and he’s still married to me, so I guess I’d consider our marriage a strong one.

It was the perfect Monday night celebrating with my favorite person in the world. Wouldn’t have it any other way!

Peter & Ali Come to Louisville

At the end of March, two of our besties came in town to visit us from Oregon. We were counting down the days until they came to visit. And it finally arrived!

Basically, we ate a lot, drank a lot and laughed a lot. Here are a few pics from our week together:

Stocked up. Obviously.

We were blessed with good weather so we enjoyed a few cold ones on our deck.

Mellow Mushroom.

Holy Grale. The best.

Maybe we’re too old for this.

Seriously good sangria at Mussel & Burger Bar

The breakfast food I could eat every day for the rest of my life. Breakfast nachos.

Nearly $100 worth of sushi. More rolls were ordered. Not ashamed.

Bourbon cocktails as a nightcap

We were so sad when Sunday morning came and we had to say goodbye, but I’m so excited to see them both in July in Portland for their wedding. Hurry up July 11!
