Oh heyyy, another Monday is here! And even though this past weekend wasn’t totally thrilling by any means, the weekend before was ah-mazing because the Bladdicks came to town! My mom, dad and brother got in on Thursday night and we headed straight to Momma’s BBQ for some goooood cookin’.
Momma’s is a new-to-us favorite and I cannot get enough of their sides. I munched on some of my dad’s ribs and mom’s pulled pork sandwich since my main jam was the cheesy corn and mac n cheese.
I worked on Friday and my family came to my office to get a little tour and take me out to lunch. As soon as I got home that afternoon, I headed home and we created a seafood feast. Hashtag lent. There is no shortage of good home cooking and good beers when you’re with my family.
A few of my coworkers told me how fun the St. Patrick’s Day parade is, so we threw on the only green we owned, packed a cooler and ventured over to the Highlands.
IT WAS SO FUN!
We’re not even one ounce of Irish, but we did a good job pretending.
We couldn’t get over how long the parade was.
There was certainly no shortage of entertainment.
We ended up at our absolute favorite…El Torazo, for dinner later that night. It was so clutch after a day of drinking at the parade.
And then I came home and took a nap at like 7 p.m. WHO ME? Nooooo. Never!
Sadly, the fun had to come to an end and my family left on Sunday afternoon. Womp womp. I don’t care how old I get, saying goodbye is the worst. I just miss them so much!
Gracie and I were feeling sad, so we decided to try to cheer up by doing a little 5K run around the neighborhood since it was so nice outside. That helped a bit!
We spent the rest of the week car shopping…which has been our life lately. It’s so stressful! And confusing! And I’m over it!
But over this past weekend, we did spend some time clearing out the garage so the new car can fit. I think it will. I hope.
And even though our weekend wasn’t that exciting, we did enjoy a couple of cocktails on Saturday night with a new mixer I picked up. Bittermilk was something my coworkers were talking about at work and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bottle. So good! Highly recommended!
And that’s our last two weekends at a glance! Tomorrow, Peter and Ali come in town from Oregon and we are PUMPED for them to visit! Having your friends live all over the country is tough, but it’s like Christmas morning when you get to see them.
